सांसारीक हॅकर

Seenu typed the command, thought about it for a while and finally pressed enter. A rotating cursor on his screen indicated it was successful and just a matter of time before hurdles clear. After a few moments, which felt like ages, the cursor stopped and showed a bash prompt. Seenu was in!

After a while Seenu felt less nervous and was browsing around various files. He found the desired files within first few minutes. "Amateurs", Seenu condescended on their security team. He thought - while he was in, why not run some monitoring command to get a feel of their security architecture. Seenu typed a command, the prompt returned with no permission message . Seenu instinctively typed same command with preceding 'sudo' and pressed enter before his brain woke up.

"User not in sudoer's file, this incident will be reported" message appeared on the screen. Seenu heaved a sigh of relief. Fatal mistake no 1. This report triggered a level 2 security alarm. Within a couple of minutes, whole campus was lit up with hundreds of men running chaotically.

Seenu was just a few feet away from office compound. He had to stand there to access office network. Now as alarms sounded , he panicked a bit and hastily closed terminal connection. He also switched off his proxy connection. Fatal mistake no. 2. His script was retrying to connect without any proxy curtains. He quickly killed the script, but little did he know how much of his information was leaked by then. He jumped on his activa, started it and moved steadily towards his house.

He was about half a kilometer away from his house when he sensed suspicious rise in traffic in that area, especially at such a late hour. Seenu went ahead a bit just to see few vehicles keeping watch around his apartments. He understood the meaning and before anyone could notice, he took a u-turn and took a road to go away from his house.

It was late in night. It was humid with lightening strikes far in the sky. It could rain anytime. Seenu had to find a shelter for night and then think about an escape route. Only one name came to his mind who could give him support, 'Baba'.

Baba was alone in his unkempt flat as usual. But when Seenu went to his house, he was awake and eating oranges. Something bothered Seenu's mind, but he ignored it. It was just a matter of few hours. Seenu went in, Baba closed door and gave Seenu water. Seenu did not tell purpose of his visit. He simply said that he lost key to his house and nobody was home at this time. Baba nodded but he had a sheepish smile. He asked Seenu to sit and offered him his orange. Seenu heard faint footsteps on stair and bells started ringing violently in his head. Why would Baba, a miser of decade, offer him his own fruit; and why on earth was this freak awake at this ungodly hour. Seenu understood meaning of that smile. But it was tad bit late now. Baba was standing opposite him, covering entrance.

Seenu jumped out of couch and went towards gallery on right side. Thankfully Baba's flat was on first floor. Seenu took a look down from gallery. There were few parked cars and bikes, but no person guarding. He heaved a sigh of relief and jumped into the dark.

As soon as he landed on feet, Seenu started running frantically. He had no time to pick up his activa now. He was planning to jump from compound wall and go into patch of wilderness beyond. Sound of footsteps behind him was increasing at rapid pace. The wall was still 50 feet away. Seenu was running out of breath. 40 feet more, couple of footsteps just behind him now. 20 feet, he could feel a hand wandering about his backpack, trying to get a hold of it. The wall was in front of him. Now was the time to jump and suddenly two hands came down on his shoulder, shaking him violently. A very strong light, perhaps from a torch, blinded his sight. Then came a strong push and Seenu woke up with a jerk.

  "अहो उठा, दूध संपलय, जा खालून घेऊन या. आणि सोमवार आहे, ऑफिसला जायचंय ना?"
सीनू मुकाट  उठला आणि पिशवी घेऊन खाली निघाला. सांसारीक हॅकरचा दिवस सुरु झाला होता.
